WQRK Southern Indiana’s Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol is set to showcase singing talent from the local listening area. The winner of WQRK Southern Indiana’s Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol will take home our *GRAND PRIZE PACKAGE (see below).
This year’s contest will feature two age divisions: YOUTH (10-17) and ADULT (ages 18 and up).

The WQRK Southern Indiana’s Classic Hits & Litefm Persimmon Idol winner will win the following GRAND PRIZE PACKAGE:
- $500 Cash Prize
- WQRK / Litefm Trophy
- WQRK / Litefm Tee Shirt

- Previous contestants and previous winners may register to compete in the Idol competition again.
- If performing along with music, contestants will need to provide their own music (on CD) at prelims, no lead vocals on the track will be accepted. Contestants may use and provide their own instruments for accompaniment. Acapella performances are also allowed but not recommended.
- Contestants will need to provide lyrics to the song they will be performing. Please print and be prepared to present these lyrics at the preliminaries
- Maximum song length of 4 minutes
- Music/lyrics must be approved by officials before the performance (no explicit language or message); discretion is up to WPHZ
- If under 18, parental consent is needed in order for the contestant to perform on Main Street Stage. A waiver will be sent home at prelims. If the waiver is not presented with the parent or guardian’s signature day of the performance, the contestant will not perform/compete.
